Since when have dolphins been the topic here ? Anyway since you brought it up, I'll reply.

What's so good about a pristine environment - if the society that exists within it treats it's people badly? How sustainable do you think that's going to be ?
A society can fail due to ecological OR societal issues overcoming its capacity to change.

Unconnected thinking is what has got mankind to this position.

Maybe you might like to widen your choice of reading material ;-)

fastbike - don't get me wrong - i love dolphins as much as the next person - if the greens stuck to hugging trees, energy conservation and environmental issues then that would be well and good, but when the greens stray into areas which they know nothing about then their stupidity is there for all to see. When keith talks about how the tour to zinbabwe is much much worse than sex tours, nandor talks about legalising dope, sue K on what I should and should not eat, , Sue B on how to raise my own children then I throw my hands up in frustration that any Zealander suports a group of such clowns as the Green party. Your objectives and policy are often so far out of whack with each other that you are jsut a pathetic joke.

petermck

You're soo last century. Get with the challenges this century poses:
- energy security
- climate stabilisation
- forging a cohesive society from disparate groups
etc

More than ever NZ needs fresh ways of looking at our challenges. The failed dogmatic approach of the neo liberals is the last thing NZ needs. This was shown conclusively in the last election.

Be realistic - neither Nandor nor keith has what it takes to be the leader of the greens -Don't get me wrong - I would love to see keith as co-leader - only then will the greens be exposed for exactly what they are - I personally will be pleased to see the Green party out of Parliament and back to a lobby group. New Zealand does not need the economically stupid policies that the Greens promote.

Watermelons is such a great description of the Greens.

"the Green Party has failed to deliver MPs to Parliament capable of leadership".

Hm, that will, as opposed to failed to deliver (more than two) MPs to Parliament, full stop :)

But then isn't Rodney often confused.

He had a desparate attempt on his blog last year to paint Peak Oil as an anti scientific crusade that the Greens had latched onto.

I'd say he's jealous - poor old Rodney is getting lonely with just Heather Roy to keep him company. ;-)
