The element in America to which that book appeals is appallingly and frighteningly real. They are found in every state. Hard to say how many of them there are, but they are one of the reasons I left that benighted land.

This seems to simply be an attempt to placate the American left and centre, rather than Bush’s choice at all. He has already shown a certain willingness to select candidates on whether they will get through the nomination progress than rather than going with his voter base.

That appointee is not “too Green�? for George W Bush.

Only logical conclusion:
George W Bush is not of the American right.

If he’s not of the American right, what is he of?

Obviously not of the left. Perhaps something to the right of the right?

A tiny little cartel of himself, his father, his closest colleagues and the royal bin Ladens?

A chilling (if somewhat humorous) glimpse into a sub-world where the persuit of money (which was originally conceived as a tool) is the “raison d’etre”.

The vulnerability of Homo (self called) “sapiens” on this planet seems to be entirely missed (and any other species forgotten).
