Don’t think there’s division in the ranks, folks. This is division among the self-proclaimed field marshalls. Geldoff has pretty much abandoned the people for the lure of elite status (failed as a punk, try humanitarianism). His $695+GSt speaking engagement in Auckland last year was evidence of that:

Those who pine for heroic leadership would do well to read 1812: Napoleon’s Fatal March on Moscow by Adam Zamoyski, an amazing depiction of how elites will indulge their egotism, backstabbing and personal vendettas even in the face of a massive threat to their own interests. Cooperation seems to be alien to the ruling class.

To some extent they are really opponents and I think that Geldoff subconsciously recognizes this… Gore wants to save the planet for human civilization (whenever that finally arrives), while Geldoff is interested in saving people.
