A nasal interpretation of a Bee Gee
Always helpful, I’ve found a new defence for Winston from the media’s attacks. He just needs to copy Peter Madsen who is threatening to sue a Manawatu journalist for saying his performance on Stars in Their Eyes was like ” rooster on nitrous oxide”. Madsen’s argument is that ‘he is a professional impersonator and the critique can be viewed by potential clients’:
“Your comments are a direct threat and could be permanently damaging to my income . . . and to my company’s reputation,” he wrote.
Well Peters is a professional politician and criticism of him by the media could be permanently damaging to his income and his professional reputation.
And it’s a new excuse that allows him to not answer any questions until all the suing is complete.
P.S. I love this bit of the Madsen story:
When contacted yesterday, Mr Madsen said he went on the show “as a bit of moral support for TVNZ”
I can understand moral support for your grandmother whose pet cat died, or your friend who has been dumped, or even your postie who is out delivering your mail in the stormy weather. But moral support for a large state owned enterprise that just made a profit of $20 million in 6 months - that Madsen is one caring dude.

Well, the more nitrous oxide in Peter Madsen and the less in the atmosphere the better, I guess. Perhaps he should hang out on the dairy farms, collecting up the wees and poos, paddling in the nitrogenous fertiliser runoff, and inhaling their valuable contribution to his performance.
He could even paddle with the Crown Cows in the Manawatu River to maximise his intake.
BTW, I always thought the late Maurice Gibb’s voice was extremely nasal, which is probably why he didn’t do much of the singing for the Bee Gees.

Speaking of Crown Cows, although I have no idea whether these were Crown ones or privately owned, I was travelling through State Highway 54 between Feilding and Hunterville a couple of weeks ago, and saw a much larger herd than that depicted in the “Crown Cows” post paddling around in the Rangitikei River.
Pity I didn’t have a camera with me, so can’t contribute to a dirty dairying photo archive.
